Here are the excerpts, “My parents had a child before Rangoli, who died within 10 days of his birth. He was called hero. My parents couldn’t emerge from the loss of that baby boy. But then Rangoli happened and she was taken care of, there was a huge celebration. But when I was born, my parents my mother especially, couldn’t come to terms with that fact that they had another baby girl. I know these stories in detail because every time a guest visited, there was a gathering, they repeated this story in front of me that how I was unwanted child”. Who had ever imagined that this unwanted girl child will be the national award winner. The girl who protected her sister and her dignity when Rangoli was going through the tough times (acid attack recovery). Most of her character plots in her movies were the one which broke the stereotypes. Even after being criticised for bad English language skills, she learned and nailed it. The woman with such varying performances and that too award winning had such excerpts was a heart breaking news to hear.

She also stated that “it’s very hard to live in an environment where you’re reminded, constantly told that your existence just happens to be her that you are not meant to be here. From my side, there was no acceptance to this fact that I am any less than anyone around me. So there was a certain discomfort that I felt growing up that I am not seen as I want to be seen as.” Her journey was never easy in the industry. During the launch she mentioned that depicting the Indian women as the selfless human who care about the men in their life should be stopped. Even in era of modernity that too with such famous feminine personality, she had to suffer that situation which a percentage of girls are still going through.

It takes a lot of courage to talk every issue at such position and this woman did it. Keep slaying queen.
